Blue Mushrooms in RI

Is there a mycologist in the house? I'll settle for a biologist that knows fungi...well!!!!
The caps are bluish-purple and the caps are convex with medium spacing between the gills. Flesh is fibrous with no funky smells. No scales. They bruise in a purplish-brown color. They are growing in leaf litter on top of moist to wet soil. Anyway, please email me privately with any pictures or info that you may have. I would consider you a "fun-gi" or girl!!

Thanks
Seth

While he's at it, my cousin, her kids, and I found some flourescent
orange shelf mushroom on the path near Wanda and Pete's root beer
float box (in the Hungry Rocks series). Bet they'd taste pretty
good together!

Just kidding, Seth....thanks for the heads up on the Art-A-Rama in
Providence. Visited there for the first time today...good free
parking...

Happy trails,

Seth,

It sounds like a Spotted Cortinarius mushroom or Spotted Cort for short.
They are bright purple when they emerge and slowly fade to lavendar with
whitish spotted areas. They are not edible...if my memory serves me...but
they sure are pretty.

Cheers!
